North Korea has kidnapped 18 millions since Korean the War

A South Korean broadcast, Seoul Broadcast System, announced that North Korea is the most infamous group Kidnap in the world.
The news cited a U.S. human rights group which states that North has kidnapped more than 180000 people.
Also the news said the group urged other countries to make move together to push North to send abductees back to their families.

Nationalities of abductees vary: China, Japan, France, Italy, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Romania, Malaysia, Singapore, Jordan and Thiland another South Korea media, Yonhap reported. Including South Korean abductees, North Korea marked the most shameless position by having the highest number in its abductees.

The group referred Kim Il-sung and Kim jong-il are the most culprit to the kidnapping. According to Yonghap, the Kim family is known to directly ordered kidnapping on citizens of other countries.

South Korean gamer bought hacking program from North Korean hacking military

A South Korean newspaper reported that a South Korean gamer is accused of buying a hacking program from North.
North Koreans he bought the program from are known as armies of North Korean hacking division.
He bought the hacking program from the North to automatically gain game items in South Korean’s famous online game: The Linage.
This online game has huge popularity in East Asia and some users committed illegal activities such as trading game items with real money.
But the problem is North Korean armies he contacted are specialized military hackers.
South Korean prosecutors are investigating that those military hackers got involved in other hacking attempts against South Korean.
Last year, South Korea government announced North Korean hacking military cracked in the network system of South Korean government several times.

I will cover Patrick when he plays music at radio station.
Actually, he was really hard to reach for me to take pictures because of his busy schedule.
Patrick works at guitar repair shop and gives lessons during weekdays and on Friday he plays music at KOPN radio station.
Photos I will take today will be most important part of his story and I can show how his music expands into another field.
So far, I did not get enough photos for his story, but I expect these photos and audios will shed light on another aspect of his life as a musician.

For presentation, I will make two slideshows. I almost completed one slideshow and have to gather more photos and audios for last slideshow.

Some analysts say North Korea to erupt military action on June

According to Seoul Newspaper, some analysts expect North could plan any military actions on June.
The reason behind this is North Korea can not wait more until South Korea proceeds conversation.
The president Lee is still persistent that South Korea can not have any talks
before North Korea makes official apology for their terrorism attacks last year:
Choenan Naval ship sink and the attack on Yonpyung island.

The Seoul Newspaper says North Korea has focused on talks for last 6months but their strategy will become hostile if South Korea keep refusing conversation with North, quoting North Korea analysts in South Korea, “North Korea is more likely to escalate tension by intimidating with nuclear and missile programs,” Hong Hyuneek of Sejong Research center said. The Seoul Newspaper seems to oppose to the current government’s North Korea policy and this analysis is not pervasive on South Korea now.

I looked up on the website of media storm agency. Actually, this website has the strong infrastructure for multimedia contents. The layout for the contents is user-friendly. When you get into the website, a lot of slideshows, few videos and flash animations are available to see. Also, the website is keen on social media platform. The audience can leave their comments on each piece and Tweeter connect you to the website.
In terms of photo, the website doesn’t have much single shots. So, I am wondering the website is only for photographers. Instead the website looks like the various visual journalists gather together and put their contents into this place. On profiles, you can see various photographers, videographers and graphic designers are working together. So, the overall website looks organized and provides you with contents in right places.
The main platform, the slideshow has useful features. You can embed the story and share it by emailing to your friends as other website provides you. These features locate right off the slideshow. So this is convenience for you. Also there is another feature in here. When you clicked the map button on “Undesired” story, the map tells more about geographical information you need to know. Other stories do not have those kind of information but this map feature will help the audience.

I took pictures of Patrick last week while he worked in the guitar repair shop. I could see how he interacted with his customers while working as business retailers. It was a good aspect of his life.
I will present him as Columbia’s usual musician. He works in radio station, gives guitar lesson,
works at guitar repair shop and records his own works other times.

His life shows many aspects of Columbia musician. While his albums does not fully cover his living, his living looks stable and he keep pursuing on his career. Next week I will cover him when he teaches in his guitar class and play music at the radio station.

North Korea warned South Korea’s psychological warefare against it

According to Yonhap, North warned South that it would open direct fires if South Korea keep sending anti Pyonyang leaflets to North side.

South Korean activists and defectors have floated countless anti Pyonyang leaflets to deliver North Korean people to help them topple North Korean regime. North sees these activities as psychological warfare and has warned South aggressively.

Yonhap said the North’s Military warned South Korean on Friday that leafleting will “expand the scope of direct fire…into full-scale destruction fire at any area anytime.” Also Yonhap quoted a South Korean activist who has sent leaflets, “the North’s threat is an indication that leaflests are having an impact on North Koreans.”

EPJ Project Update

Tomorrow I will meet a musician Patrick. Patrick is a famous guitarist in Columbia and guitar instructor as well.
He will have a performance at the local music venue and I will take his pictures tomorrow. I think tomorrow will be good for me to see how the musician’s life look like in close distance.
Actually, I took some pictures and recorded audio at the Vansickle Audio but did not use yet. Those audio expertise and their shop were kind of interesting to me. So, I am wondering how to put their day story into my project.
Actually, I did not have much shooting for the project last weekdays and it’s the time again to seek for another subject.

Yesterday I covered Roots N Blues N Barbecue Fest on Walnut St.
The fest has been three years in Missouri and some notable musicians volunteered this year.
I just took some pictures of my person subject and a band called Balair. After their show, I had an audio interview.
I think I can bundle some bands’ shows into the first chapter and my person subject’s story goes to the second chapter.
But the problem is it seems my person subject is kind of undecided yet even if he allowed me to cover his story.
He said he will email by end of this weekend, but I better find other possible subjects for first flash assignment.
Or I can call him tomorrow to ask him about the story. I’ve been covering three bands’ shows so far, so I don’t think its necessary to cover more band.
Instead, I can expand my project into any other people who do music as their second job or hobby.

And there is a few problems on my pictures I’ve been taking so far. One of bands I covered doesn’t have audio sounds because it was spring break I couldn’t borrow Marantz. So, I am trying to reach him to have a phone interview if I want to put their pictures on the slideshow otherwise, I can arrange photos for the gallery.

The rice aid from other countries don’t get to North Korean People

According to Yonhap North Korea has stored at least 1 million tons of rice but North Korean citizens never get the rice from their party.

A ruling party lawmaker, Rep. Yoon Sang-hyun of GNP in S.Korea said “It is true that the North Korea authorities have stockpiled 1 million tons of rice for the military in case of war, including 300,000 tons for regular forces and 700,000 tons for reserve forces.”

With Yoon’s statement, analysts claim the rice from outside the communist state go straight to militaries and never get to North Korean people.

Also Yoon introduced Korean intelligence authorities’ statement that North has already stored 1.5 million tons of oil and 1.7 million tons of ammunitions.

While these claims are not confirmed yet Yonhap said North Korea regime’s suspicious behaviors possibly make other countries doubt on where their aid rice really go.

Last year the U.N. World Food Program reported about a quarter of North Koreans are struggling from hunger.
